Moffitt Cancer Center, the top-ranked NCI-designated comprehensive cancer center in the Southeastern United States, is seeking a faculty member in the tenure-earning rank of Associate/Senior Member to become the Vice-Chair for the Department of Biostatistics and Bioinformatics and the Associate Scientific Director for the Biostatistics and Bioinformatics Shared Resource (BBSR). 

Requirements: 
Successful candidates must have a Ph.D. in statistics, biostatistics, bioinformatics, informatics, biomedical informatics, computer science or related field and relevant cancer research training and experience. 

Position Highlights: 
The growing Department of Biostatistics and Bioinformatics and corresponding Shared Resource currently has 19 faculty and approximately 26 BBSR staff members engaged in a wide range of statistical and bioinformatics research and collaborations on clinical, translational, population and biological studies in cancer including novel therapeutic and drug discoveries, prognostic and predictive biomarker developments, chemoprevention, high throughput genomics, proteomics & metabolomics, next-generation sequencing data-based investigations, epidemiological studies, comparative effectiveness research, clinical trial designs, and personalized medicine studies. Many of these projects draw upon Moffitt’s Total Cancer Care initiative, which provides access to a comprehensive set of clinical and molecular data on a large number of cancer patients. 

The Ideal Candidate: 
•    We seek candidates who can contribute to the many current clinical, basic and population science studies at Moffitt, as evidenced by an outstanding record conducting cancer research in a team science setting, a prolific publication record and consistent history of personal or collaborative peer-reviewed funding. 
•    Preference will be given to applicants with experience in administration and leadership. 
•    The candidate is expected to conduct independent methodologic research that seeks to resolve methodological issues encountered during collaborative research. 

Responsibilities: 
•    Collaborate on a variety of cancer research projects. 
•    Communicate clearly and openly. 
•    Build relationships to promote a collaborative environment. 
•    Provide leadership of the Department of Biostatistics and Bioinformatics and the CCSG funded Biostatistics and Bioinformatics Shared Resource.

Academic rank beyond Associate Member will be commensurate with experience and qualifications. Appointment at the level of Associate / Senior Member requires a minimum of five years of experience at the Assistant / Associate Professor level. The position is tenure-earning.
