Summary
Applied Post Doc Fellow in Computational Omics
Moffitt Cancer Center (Moffitt) is a National Cancer Institute-Designated Comprehensive Cancer Center located in Tampa, Florida, USA. It has been named to Newsweek’s 2023 list of “America’s Best Cancer Hospitals” and ranked No. 10 in the nation. Moffitt has strong research programs in basic, clinical, population and quantitative sciences. The Teng Lab in the Department of Biostatistics and Bioinformatics at Moffitt Cancer Center focuses on computational and statistical method development to process, annotate and interpret cutting-edge omics datasets with the mission to understand human diseases such as cancers.
The Teng lab is currently funded by NIGMS and NIDCR with ongoing research including:
- Statistical modeling of spatial omic signals
- Deep learning of cell-specific enhancer-gene interactions
- Statistical evaluation of somatic mutation combinatorial effects
- Machine learning of clinical risks of clonal hematopoiesis
Postdoctoral Position Responsibilities and Highlights:
- Lead development of computational/statistical methods
- Draft reports/manuscripts for conferences and publications
- You will be encouraged and supported to apply for training grants
The Ideal Candidate:
- Passionate and motivated in computational omics research
- Proficient programming skills in biomedical data processing
- Experience in omics studies
Qualifications:
- PhD in Computer Science, Biostatistics, Bioinformatics, or the related fields.
