Summary

EHR Informatics Educator

Position Highlights:

  • The EHR Informatics Educator supports the Information Technology training needs of clinicians and their support teams as it relates to the Electronic Health Record (EHR) and automated solutions.
  • Identifies training needs, develops and delivers training. Responsible for providing “at the elbow" support, EHR issue resolution through the Provider Support Line, tracks EHR training and competency logs for clinicians.
  • Analyzes compliance and adoption reports to identify ongoing training opportunities to assist clinicians with the efficient and effective use of the EHR and automated solutions designed to support clinical care.
  • Based on their analysis Educators will also make recommendations to what additional hardware is needed to increase efficiencies, software or systems functional specification modifications to order templates, workflow process allowing the healthcare professional to accurately utilize the system with greater efficacy.
  • After communicating and assisting with visual design, the Educator will resolve the issues identified and then help deliver training on the new revisions. They will need to be SME (Subject Matter Experts) on any revisions and updates to the systems.

Responsibilities:

  • Development of training curriculums, job aids, digital communication newsletter for automated solutions to support clinical care.
  • Create and provide training evaluation tools
  • Run and analyze adoption and compliance reports to identify clinicians who need assistance with automated solutions to streamline their processes to meet organizational and regulatory requirements.
  • After reviewing systems changes and ease of user adoption in the field. Educators will take their findings and make recommendations to what additional hardware is needed to increase efficiencies, software or systems functional specification modifications to order templates, workflow process allowing the healthcare professional to accurately utilize the system with greater efficacy. After communicating and assisting with visual design, the Educator will resolve the issues identified and then help deliver training on the new revisions. They will need to be SME (Subject Matter Experts) on any revisions and updates to the systems.
  • Provide classroom and at the elbow training sessions for automated solutions. Provide support related to the EHR, either in-person or virtually, for clinicians to assist in their use of new and existing functionality. Support will also be provided by staffing a phone line for clinicians.

Credentials and Experience:

  • Bachelor’s Degree – field of study: Education, Business Administration, Healthcare or Informatics
  • Minimum of three (3) years’ experience in a clinical support or educator role with expertise in healthcare computer applications.
  • Minimum of two (2) years of technical training experience within the last five (5) years.

Preferred Exp: 

  • Oracle Cerner experience
