Moffitt Cancer Center is seeking a Chair for its Department of Anesthesia. The candidate should be capable of leading a multidisciplinary group of physicians and advanced practice providers who deliver anesthesia, pain and critical care in multiple settings.   The Department currently includes over 16 Anesthesiologists  and over 40 CRNAs and AAs and further growth is anticipated.  Surgical volumes, both inpatient and outpatient, for Fiscal Year 2019 exceeded 11,000 cases, in addition to the 3600+ interventional pain visits.   The new Chair will further expand the mission of the pain service to address both the acute and chronic aspects of pain in the oncology setting.  The Chair also will foster the development of a multidisciplinary critical care medicine program, and advance the academic development of Department members in order to support a robust research program that translates into practice changing knowledge.

Candidates must have a proven track record of excellence and demonstrate evidence of leadership qualities, including a strategic vision.  Candidate must have or be eligible for a Florida Medical License, an M.D. degree or M.D./Ph.D. degree, and be board certified in Anesthesiology
