Moffitt Cancer Center is seeking a Scientific Development Administrator I to join the Office of Scientific Development (OSD) to support research development services including strategic design, project development, writing, and editing of complex faculty-led grant proposals (e.g., P and U series NIH grants).
The Ideal Candidate:
Must have experience in drafting, editing, and/or project managing grant submissions to funding agencies such as the National Cancer Institute
Must possess a deep understanding of scientific terms and an ability to convey complex scientific ideas clearly in written and graphical forms
Must be able to work both as a team player and as a highly independent individual in direct and indirect support of faculty.
Must be able to work effectively with all levels of faculty and staff
Must have proven track record of high quality written documents
Support research development services for large complex grant proposals in collaboration with faculty leads
Develop, curate, and disseminate standardized information related to the development of grant proposals
Project manage all aspects of developing and submitting complex grant proposals
Provide ongoing high level administrative support to awarded complex institutional grants
Track and report outcomes related to OSD development activities
Education & Experience:
Master’s degree in a biomedical or related scientific field, including science communication, required
PhD in a biomedical or related scientific field is preferred
At least 2 years of experience in scientific editing and grant writing (graduate training may be included) is required
At least 3 years of experience working or training in a scientific, medical, or academic setting is required
Completion of at least 1 year of postdoctoral work preferred
Experience in cancer research settings is highly preferred
