Summary

Moffitt Cancer Center is recruiting for a Director of Sponsored Research in the CCSG Administration Office. This position can be onsite or remote in FL only.

The Director of Sponsored Research provides leadership oversight of grant and research contract related activities at Moffitt Cancer Center and serves as the institutional signature authority for grants and non-clinical trial research contracts. The position is responsible for providing the Cancer Center’s administrative infrastructure for proposal review, submission, activation and tracking as well as ensuring institutional compliance to federal, state, sponsor and institutional regulations and guidelines. The position also is responsible for institutional education and training related to grant activities. The Director role reports to the Sr. Director, Research Business Office within Research Administration.  The position is responsible for data quality of grant information, including meta data for proposals and awards.  As a stand-alone NCI designated Comprehensive Cancer Center, the Director of Sponsored Research also plays a critical role in tracking and reporting for the Cancer Center Support Grant and academic structure Leads the development of grant related policy and procedures for the department and institution and ensures they remain current.

 

Education/Experience

Bachelor’s degree required. Master’s degree preferred.

Minimum eight years of related experience.

Knowledge of cancer centers or equivalent large specialized academic institutions

In depth experience in grants, including fiscal management and regulatory requirements

Demonstrated experience with fiscal, document and organizational tracking systems.
